Time to save money!
-Free App
-Free Skype-to-Skype video and voice calls
-Free Chat
-Cheap VoIP, SMS, etc. (Skype to regular phones)
All this can be done over Wi-Fi and 3G network (firmware 2.2.1 seems to be having problems with 3G, but that shouldn’t be a problem since everyone is going to be using firmware 3.0 as soon as it comes out…) and on both iPhone and iPod Touch.
A personal prediction of mine is that slowly we’ll see that people will start wanting only data plans (3G network), since VoIP is just $5.95 a month for unlimited country calls, and $12.95 a month for unlimited calls worldwide, the rest of the stuff you pay for is cheap enough, and let’s not forget that if your friends also have Skype, you can call them (both voice and video) for free! So let’s hope capitalism doesn’t get in the way and have the phone carriers to make you sign phone plans (*cough*AT&T*cough*).
And here are some links so that you can know more about all of this more in-depth:

The app is now available at the App Store for Free.
