Entries Now Being Accepted for 2009 Apple Design Awards

Let your creativity shine as we honor the year’s best-designed applications for Mac and iPhone at WWDC 2009. Winners will take home prizes of great Apple hardware ”along with the respect, admiration, and envy of their peers from around the world. Enter today and put your work in the spotlight.
Deadline for entries is May 4.

Apple ‘s WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) is coming up in just a couple of months, and will feature a series of awards for iPhone and Mac developers “ the 2009 Apple Design Awards.  Some of last year ‘s winners in iPhone categories included Enigmo for Best iPhone Game, OmniFocus for Best iPhone Productivity App, and AOL Radio for Best iPhone Entertainment App.

Last year the total pool of apps at the time of WWDC was probably only in the hundreds “ this year we ‘ll be above 30,000 to choose from “ and at least 10% of those don ‘t involve flatulence.  Speaking of which, shouldn ‘t there be a ‘Best iPhone Fart App ‘ category?

Here ‘s the rundown of the iPhone related awards that are up for grabs, straight from the Apple developers site:

Best iPhone OS Applications

Enter your iPhone OS app and gain the recognition of your peers as you take center stage to showcase your best work.

Awards will be presented to:
Up to four winners who have designed applications using iPhone SDK for iPhone SDK 2.2.1 (applications must be released versions and available on the App Store).
One winner who has designed an application using iPhone OS 3.0 beta (application must be a pre-release version)
One student winner who has designed an application using iPhone SDK for iPhone SDK 2.2.1 (application must be a released version and available on the App Store).
