Gizmodo has an excellent post up today giving a rundown and comparison of all the new and upcoming smartphone mobile app stores “ covering the iPhone ‘s App Store as well as the offerings for Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Palm ‘s upcoming webOS, and Nokia ‘s Ovi Store.
They ‘ve got a brief overview of each of the stores, highlighting strengths and weaknesses, as well as a big features comparison chart to give an at a glance view of things.
The App Store is noted as the standard by which the others are measured, but it ‘s also pointed out that it is far from perfect. One clear miss that the comparison chart highlights for me is the iPhone ‘s lack of any Returns policy “ while both Android and Windows Mobile offer / will offer a 24 hours return policy. I ‘m also surprised there was not a row in the chart for trial software.
