Tweetie has been my favorite iPhone Twitter app for quite a while now. In fact, I probably use Twitter more via Tweetie than via any other client, even though I ‘m quite happy with Twhirl on the desktop.
So I ‘m very happy to see news that atebits is very soon to be releasing Tweetie for Mac.
This redesign is in celebration of the imminent release of a new app, Tweetie for Mac. In many ways it is the bigger cousin of the iPhone version (hence the codename: ‘Bigbird ‘). Tweetie for Mac is more than a port “ in fact, it ‘s a complete rewrite. The new core is faster, more stable, and more extensible than its predecessor. Not only will it form the foundation of the Mac version, but also the foundation of the next generation of Tweetie 2.0 for iPhone.
Talk about a win-win situation if you ‘re fan of Tweetie and a Mac user “ a Mac client set for imminent release and a major 2.0 update on the way for Tweetie on the iPhone. I ‘m definitely very keen to see both the next generation of Tweetie on iPhone and its ‘bigger cousin ‘ on the Mac.
