Here ‘s something to keep iPhone devs busy over a holiday weekend (in the US at least). And a very good something indeed. Apple has let developers know that the iPhone Push Notification Service is now available for testing.
This should lead to lots of good stuff for those of us on the 3.0 betas to test once devs have had a chance to churn out updates that incorporate the new service. I ‘m looking forward to seeing this in use in IM and Twitter clients, and lots of places.
Here ‘s the blurb that apparently just went out to developers:
Start testing your applications using the Apple Push Notification service today. Log in to the iPhone Dev Center and review the Apple Push Notification Programming Guide and Getting Started video. Team Agents can log in to the iPhone Developer Program Portal and proceed to the App ID section to create the components necessary to enable and test applications using the Apple Push Notification service.
Any bets on who will be the first to come out with an app updated to include Push? Any wishes for who you ‘d like to see do it first?
