I ‘ve said this before recently, but still feel the need to say it again “ this is just a great time of the year if you ‘re a sports fan in the US. Baseball season starting up, NBA playoff races getting settled, March Madness ‘ recent climax, and this week one of sports ‘ grandest and greatest occasions “ The Masters.
I enjoy all four of golf ‘s majors, but The Masters and The (British) Open above all the rest. They tend to bring the very best out of the very best players, and often finish off with some tense Sunday afternoon drama.
If you ‘re keen to keep up with Tiger, Phil, Chad (Campbell “ the guy who sat top of the leader board after Day 1), and all the rest of the action at The Masters “ there ‘s a superb, and free, iPhone app that ‘ll help you do just that, and quite a bit more.
The app is called The Masters Golf Tournament, and it ‘s the ‘official ‘ release, put out by the tournament committee themselves it looks like.
If you like the MLB At Bat app, and you ‘re a fan of The Majors, you ‘ll love this app. Here ‘s some of the good stuff you ‘ll find in it:
- Live video (in the US only) “ including highlights, live action from the Amen Corner holes and from the water holes 15 and 16, and player interviews
- Leader Board
- Course details “ see each hole ‘s par and yardage at a glance.
You can even check out the flyover video for each hole “ these are a great way to see the layout of the course and get an idea how each hole needs to be approached.
This app looks great and gives you all you need to keep up with The Masters on the go. I ‘m going to be traveling to the in-laws today and I ‘ll definitely be using it lots “ and hopefully following a classic Friday charge by Tiger, to put him in the thick of the weekend ‘s drama.
You can find The Masters Golf Tournament in the App Store now, and it ‘s free.
