Just two weeks after the release of iPhone OS 3.0 Beta 2, we ‘ve now got Beta 3 available.
I downloaded it late last night and have been running it since then. I chose to just do an Update this time around, rather than a Restore “ and so far I ‘ve not seen any issues. Updating saves a ton of time in putting back your network / mail etc. settings, and of course in re-arranging apps on home screens.
From what I can see so far “ and from what I hear at other sites / forums “ there have not been any massive changes in this new beta “ but there seems to be substantial performance improvement. Everything seems a little zippier and I haven ‘t seen any latency anywhere yet.
Just a few other things worth noting:
I have noticed that Spotlight does recall “ and display “ your most recent search when you get to the ‘-1 ‘ home screen, as had been reported at a few sites last night. I ‘m not too excited about this one and not even sure I like it.
Apps compatibility still seems stellar “ and
Evernote works great for me, for the first time in any of the 3.0 betas. It previously crashed back to the home screen almost constantly and failed to display individual notes. Now it works fine, seems much faster, and is not crashing at all. Hurrah.
That ‘s about it for now. Would love to hear your thoughts / discoveries if you ‘re running Beta 3
