Accept no imitations! This is the one, the only ‘Space Invaders ‘!
That ‘s the opening of the App Store description for the Space Invaders iPhone app. And for anyone who has played this all-time classic arcade game, those are good words to see.
Apparently this one has been out since February, but I never noticed until seeing a good review of it at The Appera yesterday afternoon. It was purchased, on my phone, and being used within a few minutes of reading that post.

I haven ‘t had a chance to try out all the different control methods / screen modes / extras as yet “ but I have played the game enough to tell that it just feels ‘right ‘, feels like the classic game “ as it should since this one comes from Taito, who are the original manufacturer / seller of the game.
