CONTEST “ 3 PROMO CODES FOR FREE COPIES OF FIZZ WEATHER TO WIN

Contest Deadline: Tuesday April 21st, 12:00pm US Central

Thanks to the generosity of Nicky and the folks at Fizz Software, we ‘ve got another cool weekend contest for you.  We ‘ve got three promo codes for free copies of the Fizz Weather app for iPhone to be won.

I ‘ve been using Fizz Weather since it first appeared in the App Store.  It ‘s much more powerful than the built-in weather app “ with a good variety of Now / 2-day / 5-day forecasts and views, forecast / satellite / radar maps, and lots of other good features.

Hit the break for details on how easy it is to enter for a chance to win a free copy of Fizz Weather

How To Win:

**  Just add a comment to this post – and you ‘re in with an entry for our random drawing of winners next Tuesday.

**  For an extra entry, tell us how / when a weather app is most helpful to you.  For those of us here in Austin, this time of year is rife with tornado warnings, severe thunderstorms, and flooding threats.  Let us know about your ‘exciting ‘ times of the year for weather conditions and how Fizz Weather might help you out.

That ‘s it. We ‘ll draw our 3 winners next Tuesday (4/21/09) at 12:00pm Central. Good luck to all!

Please Note: Promo Codes are only good in the iTunes US store. This is an Apple limitation unfortunately

    Wooh nice app.

At the moment, it'll be useful telling me when it'll rain. I need to buy an item but the store only sells it on a rainy day!

  2. sfmitch says:

Sign me up. I like to use weather apps in the morning, before I go outside.

  3. I could use it. Using weather channel now but more info and less clicking looks good to me. Wouldve been helpfull the other day determining a good “tee time”.

  4. erikwithak says:

This is most helpful when we get a storm coming through or to find out if it is ok for me to take my motorcycle to work or not. Also when we are getting snow.

  5. szweiner says:

I travel a lot and the weather programs are very helpful. I looked at Fizz and would love to be picked as a winner.

I like weather apps when on vacation. It's much more important to dress for the temperature when it's a long way back for an umbrella.

  7. Shimray says:

I like to watch live forecast when in the middle of an event I am working on. That means an open air party, a chinese lantern parade, or just a meeting with friends. And well, now when the winter is over, so it's time to watch it again, during winter everybody sits at home :]

Hi all – I checked the app out in the app store and it seems very powerful. I would use it all the time, but particularly during the school year. I’m a teacher, and just like the kids, I like to keep an eye on the weather to check on possible ‘snow days’ coming up.

  9. I use my built in weather app every morning here in San Francisco. It helps me determine whether I'll be riding my bike (and reducing my carbon footprint in the process) to work or taking the bus. Always on the lookout for a better weather app and this one looks like a great one.

donovanwatts – Your comment reminds me of London. My last three jobs there, I walked to work – always around a 20-30 minute brisk (and often wet) walk …

  11. MikeCTZA says:

Look great. I find a weather app like this really helpful when travelling, to know what to ezxpect and what to prepare for during the day. The standard weather app is OK but this looks leaps ahead !!

  12. thehotrod11 says:

    Thanks for the chance.

  13. meatza says:

Having a solid weather app on the phone makes it easy when packing for a trip and not having to boot up the computer in order to get an *accurate* forecast.

  14. Living in Tornado Ally up here in Oklahoma also requires immediate weather updates so this app would come in extremely useful.

  16. brainspin says:

Time to replace the default weather app. Great.

There's this local survey here that says the national weather forcast is good at numbers but is weak on guessing whether it would rain or not. Weather apps kicks in here. In the end, the user is just interested whether something will happen rather then looking at

  17. EnidC says:

Nice weather graphics, I would like this so I can know when to take my granddaughter out without it raining and us getting wet.

  18. PaperJet says:

I did never like the default weather app. I can see if there will be snow when I am going to the mountains!!

  19. Yeah! I hope I win this one!

  20. iVoyager says:

Weather is something that you can't predict, but a good app is something you can !! I would use this every day I'm sure.
