Bizarro iPhone Apps: Dr. Arty Chat
It ‘s been a while since a bizarro type app has caught my attention “ but wow, this one has sort of made up for lost time. Dr Arty Chat touts itself as ‘the ultimate iPhone virtual SMS chat partner ‘. Whoa “ the fact that there is even one app in this category is truly amazing to me “ but the implication that there are multiple apps of this type really makes me chuckle.
This is an app that provides you with an imaginary SMS friend, and lets you have pretend conversations with them. Yikes. Oh, and as an added ‘feature ‘ you can turn the imaginary texting friend into more of an enemy “ yes, you can switch to ‘Abusive ‘ mode and get the sort of responses shown in the screencap above.
I ‘m not a big texter anyway, but the thought of pretending to have text convos with a ‘virtual SMS chat partner ‘ just doesn ‘t do much for me at all.
Having abusive virtual pretend texty friends is not free either. It ‘s $0.99 to experience this app. I ‘m going to pretend I texted a friend about this and PretendFriend advised against it
