Word Fu “ one of my favorite word games for the iPhone “ has had an update this week. The update adds two new features:
- An ability to challenge friends on Facebook and Twitter, by sending them your score and settings details
- A Pause function “ use an easy Pause button at any point during a game, exit out of it, and return right back to exactly where you were
The Pause button is very welcome, and a social element is as well “ though I ‘m not super-keen on the way the ‘challenge friends ‘ feature works. It just sends out your scores to all on Twitter / Facebook “ and you wait for someone to take up the challenge. So far, I ‘ve had zero response back on a a couple test efforts at this.
I ‘d much rather have an ability to message an individual (who you know is likely to be interested and have the game) to ask for a game, or use a Facebook Connect style link-up so that you can just jump into a game with lots of other opponents at once.
Still, the Pause button is a very nice addition and I hope the social element may be beefed up in a future update
