GV Mobile “ the native iPhone app for working with the new Google Voice (formerly Grand Central) service “ has recently launched in the App Store, and has already got a rave review from my friend Dan over at What ‘s On iPhone.

Dan offers a very good and concise description of what Google Voice is and does

Google Voice is a rebadged and enhanced GrandCentral. Google Voice is not a voice service as much as it is a voice-management service. It helps organize and enhance the phones numbers and services you already use. Google Voice gives you a single number that people can call. That number, in turn, can ring any number of different phone numbers. Then, if you do not pick up, it gives you one inbox for voicemail (and sms). In addition, Google Voice offers free voicemail transcription.

Dan has been so impressed with Google Voice as a whole, and GV Mobile in particular, that he now feels ‘pretty much ready to make the move to Google Voice full-time ‘.

I ‘m still waiting on an invite to try out Google Voice, but I ‘m happy to live vicariously through Dan for a little longer if he keeps letting us know how it ‘s going.

Check out his full post “ which also has an embedded demo video of GV Mobile “ HERE.
