T-Mobile Helps Out iPhone Users!

Very cool story over at TUAW today.  It seems that iPhone users on their network were having some serious voicemail problems, and were reporting them to T-Mobile (Executive) customer support.  And T-Mobile not only provided a fix, but also gave them a service credit!

T-Mobile, through a representative, said "T-Mobile, though they do not offer the iPhone, (but) they are committed to supporting users on their network who have them."

It ‘s not very often that you see a story where any of the big cell carriers come off as being ‘nice guys ‘

Yeah, T-mobile US has much better customer service (& are less expensive) than most of the other carriers. I'm still using the original iPhone with them. If only their network supported iPhone 3G, I wouldn't have to switch to AT&T when the next iPhone comes out. A comment on TUAW had me lol, that said it was kind of sad that a carrier that doesn't even offer the iPhone supports it better than AT&T. I hope, for my sake, that AT&T really isn't as bad as many people say.

aflorence – I think, at least coverage / network wise, it depends so much on where you live. I'm in Austin, Tx – and have really almost never seen issues with service, and have always got great 3G signal. Touch wood :)

Obviously, I hope to have decent coverage but dealing with a considerate, ethical company has some weight as well. I dropped Cingular many years ago. They don't still pull the “We didn't know you did not want to renew your contract so we renewed it for you; now you have to pay us the ETF to get out of your contract” trick do they?

aflorence – I don't know on that one, hope not. My wife and I have been with them since Cingular days (and still have lots of lovely rollover minutes) and haven't come across that, but we've always been wanting to renew and so forth. I think all the big carriers have their (bad) moments, especially on the customer service side of things.

I've never tried T-Mobile – it's good to hear they do so well in those areas …
