Wanna Hear The Whole Sorry Story of A-Rod? – There’s An App for That

Hurrah (not) “ the one book I really don ‘t want to read just made it to the App Store – ‘A-Rod: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez ‘, by Selena Roberts “ the Sports Illustrated reporter who originally broke the A-Rod steroids story.

I don ‘t have any idea, of course, what the whole truth is about A-Rod.  I tend to think the worst though now “ as he has been caught out in bold-faced lies already on the subject of cheating with performance-enhancing drugs.  I also hate, hate, hate the fact that so far he has been able to brush aside the latest accusations (in this book) that he has used steroids much more than in just the periods he admitted to.  He ‘s so far not been willing to comment at all on that subject.  Again, I don ‘t know if the latest allegations are true or false “ but I damn sure don ‘t think A-Rod has any great foundation of credibility that should give him any sort of pass to refuse to even address this subject.  No pressure from MLB to address it though “ surprise, surprise.

Blah.  Rant over.  I ‘m a huge baseball fan “ or have been anyway. It was always my favorite sport as a kid, and I still want to love it now.  So I hate all these cheating stories that just won ‘t go away, and especially hate the A-Rod (and now Manny) stories of this year.

So yeah “ destroying any shreds of credibility left for the game of baseball, sabotaging the ‘national pastime ‘ “ there ‘s an app for that :(

If you ‘ve got a stronger stomach for this stuff than I do, you can find the book in the App Store now, for a price that seems a tribute to A-Rod ‘s salary – $26.99.

UPDATE: The icing on the cake for this one “ as noted in the comments, have now checked the Kindle Store price for this very same book.  $14.84 “ nearly 50% less than this app. :)

whiny steroid rant aside, my issue is with the price. I think they're making a big mistake at pricing this thing the same as the hardcover. Pulling these numbers out of my tuchas, this ebook should be priced at $9.99 or $14.99. I'm guessing they see this as having the same content, but you're not getting the same exact product. Having a physical book to hold makes a different to people.

mikelite – You calling me whiny??? You talking to me??? :) Totally agree on the price issue – epecially when the Kindle edition, which presumably is easily available via the Kindle app, is under $15!
