More on David Hockney’s iPhone Art

I posted a few days ago about David Hockney “ one of Britain ‘s most famous and celebrated artists “ opening an exhibition of new works created on the iPhone and on computer.
At that time I had not been able to find an actual iPhone image of Hockney ‘s to include. Now I have spotted a Mail Online article that provides more background on Hockney ‘s efforts with the iPhone “ and also included the image above of one of his iPhone creations. Apparently flowers are among his favorite subjects when creating on the iPhone
‘I lie in bed and send illustrated art lectures to friends and also my own iPhone paintings,’ said Hockney. ‘I like to draw flowers by hand on the iPhone and send them out to friends so they get fresh flowers. And my flowers last!’
I love the mini-easel stand too

Didn't believe my eyes when I first saw the combination of David Hockney and iphone … thank you for finding and sharing! … and I love the mini-easel, too!

Bettina – my pleasure. I found it pretty shocking at first too, and I'm amazed how quickly he's embraced the new medium at the ripe young age of 71
I guess that's what separates great artists from the rest …
I want to fly around the world in my own private plane
I want a party every night so I can sleep all day
I want the world to stop & stare whenever it sees me
But most of all I want to be in David Hockney's diaries
Most of all I want to be in David Hockney's diaries
A nice little song by the Television Personalities from 1981 …
Bettina – I agree – this probably is another very good indicator of his greatness. I also think some of the apps are pretty amazing by now. Brushes in particular seems an incredible tool – I would imagine that is one of – or perhaps the primary – app he is using …
Dear Patrick, you are right, it is almost unbelievable what you can do with brushes. The only thing still missing is the haptic experience of blending colours and the smell – but maybe that won't be long, too, given the speed of development in the last few years. On the weekend I will have a closer look at your blog, I have the impression it's not “just another iphone blog”.
Bettina – I agree – I am not artistic at all, but love watching what my young daughter can do with Brushes.
Oh, and of course your suspicions are correct – we're not 'just another iPhone blog'
