Documents To Go for iPhone Is Out & Initial Price Is Good

Documents To Go for the iPhone is in the App Store now, and priced very nicely during a ‘Grand Opening Special ‘. For 2 weeks only, you can get it for just $4.99. That ‘s a lot lower than I, and probably many others, expected.
Documents To Go “ also known as DocsToGo or DTG “ has been a leading app for working with Microsoft Office documents on various mobile platforms for many years “ and its iPhone version has been much anticipated.
Here are just some of DocsToGo ‘s features:
- Edit, create and view MS Word documents (including Word 2007, Word 2008)
- View and synchronize MS Excel, Powerpoint, PDF, Apple iWork and other files
- Includes a desktop application (Win and Mac) with 2-way file sync (over WiFi)
- View and edit in portrait and landscape mode
- Character formatting “ bold, italic, underline, text color and highlight
- Auto bullets and numbers
- Multi-level zooming
- Embedded graphics
- Tables
- Undo / Redo
- Find and replace
- View comments, footnotes, endnotes, and text boxes
Purchasing this version of DocsToGo also entitles you to a (free) update that will have support for editing and creating Excel spreadsheets. There ‘s no expected release date for that update as yet “ it is just listed as ‘when available ‘.
I really don ‘t work with MS documents that often anymore, so I probably won ‘t be trying out DocsToGo very soon. I did install it for my wife this evening though, as she works with Word and Excel docs all the time. I ‘ll hopefully get some thoughts from her on it soon.
You can find DocsToGo in the App Store now “ priced at $4.99 for just two weeks from today.

Apps for more then $0.99 are expensive. Nowadays people shouldn't waste thier money on usless things. I had ms word, excel and powerpoint on my old winmo which I never used eventhough am a heavy excel user (accountant). But why would I want to edit such a document while am walking around.
Eightball – I wonder whether Office apps usage may follow things like mobile browser usage and overall mobile apps usage patterns on the iPhone – as in, wonder whether these will get a fair bit more use on this platform …
