Stephen Fry “ the comedian, actor, novelist, Guardian Technology columnist, blogger, cricket fan, and all-around fantastically brilliant person “ has offered up his review and thoughts on the new iPhone 3GS, and the new iPhone OS 3.0.

He is very impressed with both.  Here ‘s just a small slice of his thoughts on the 3GS:

In short, the iPhone 3GS is triumphantly the product of a company at the absolute top of their game. If it were a BMW it would badged as the ‘M ‘ version “ the same but with added poke and better spec. Power and performance can be considered a luxury until you try them and realise how much more functionality, ease of use and productivity they can deliver.

I fully agree, and it ‘s great to see the 3GS get a thumbs up from Fry, who has used, abused and reviewed all the top smartphones of recent years on every major mobile platform, and whose judgement I always find spot-on in all things tech.

Check out his full review HERE.  For those who don ‘t know him yet, here ‘s his Wikipedia page “ if you get a chance, check out his work in Blackadder, one of the very best TV comedy programs ever.

His reviews are always sooooo indepth, such a must read. The thing I love about them as well is he actually uses the products ( a lot) and so you can really tell he is talking from a users point of view.

Christine – I agree of course – and enjoy just about anything he writes to be honest.
