First Impressions: Beejive 3.0
Beejive 3.0 launched tonight.
There’s something funky going on , though: push isn’t working at all for me. All the notifications are on, and I’m definitely connected to the Internet, but nothing is happening. At first I thought it was a lack of proper support for my unlocked 1st gen, but I seem to have been able to download the Fido service update that was issued through iTunes, so I can’t see why Push wouldn’t work. It’s not just alerts, though. I’m having a lot of trouble even seeing my contact list despite the app telling me I’m signed in, and i absolutely cannot log onto MSN. I’m guessing it’s just a server overload, so I’m not getting frustrated. I did read up on the Beejive forums and apparently some people have it working just fine.
When it does work, Beejive 3.0 is noticably faster than the previous version, even though I’m still using my 1st gen iPhone. It also looks a little slicker, too, with a great new splash screen. The real kicker will be the push notificatioms, though, so hopefully my 3GS will finally arrive in the mail today and I can talk more about what the update is like.

Worked like a charm for me!
The only hitch was that I don't appear to be showing as online with my gtalk name– although I can still chat with people so only a minor inconvenience
I have read in Twitter that push notifications are not working with jailbroken iPhones 2G. I hope the dev team fix it ASAP. Search for "iPhone 2G push"
It's still acting really funky for me. Logged on this morning and the contacts definitely showed up faster…just not all of them. My sister's gtalk acct was nowhere to be found. Gah.
I'm assuming this will work just fine when I get on the new iPhone, but it's kinda funky how this isn't even working properly for basic functionality on my 1st-gen.
I picked up the app a day before they released the latest one with push. It has worked pretty well for me so far…
Which version did you download im getting errors for most of them.

Ballymack – have you gone to Settings > Notifications and then your IM app, and made sure Sounds are turned on? I think they may set to Off by default.
