iPhone Momentum ‘Stronger than ever’ – 3GS Sells 1 Million in First 3 Days
Lots of very good news for iPhone and Apple fans in an Apple press release today “ even including quotes from Steve Jobs for the first time in several months.
Apple® today announced that it has sold over one million iPhone™ 3GS models through Sunday, June 21, the third day after its launch. In addition, six million customers have downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software in the first five days since its release.
That ‘s pretty amazing stuff. In this economy, and with this summer ‘s strong competition from the Pre and various others “ sales for the iPhone 3GS have matched the pace of the iPhone 3G last year, and have hit the 1 million mark in just 3 days again.

I ‘m a very happy 3GS owner, and the new model has thus far met and even exceeded my expectations. Coupled with the power of the new 3.0 OS, I ‘d say this is well-deserved success.
What amazed me was that they met the same sales figures of the 3G in the same 3 days but with only 6 countries instead of the 22 countries of the initial 3G launch.
