If you ‘re in the market for a turn-by-turn, voice-guided GPS app for the iPhone, our friend Macgirl has done a superb and comprehensive review of the Sygic Mobile Maps America app, that you may want to check out.

Macgirl is an excellent reviewer, and the app sounds very promising.  Here ‘s just a small slice of her thoughts on it:

While it ‘s not perfect, Mobile Maps is good enough and reliable enough for me to retire my TomTom Go 720 GPS unit in favor of having turn-by-turn navigation guidance available right on my iPhone 3GS, which I carry with me everywhere as it is.

To say the review is comprehensive feels a bit of an understatement to me “ epic feels like a better word.  It is long, strong, very well written, immensely detailed “ and gives you tons of quality information about this app.

I ‘m normally not huge fan of epically long reviews “ but given the high costs involved in choosing a GPS solution, I think many may be very glad to see the length and thoroughness of this one.

Macgirl has also organized it very, very well into sections covering all the key aspects of the application, and linked to those at the top of the post, so you can jump straight to the sections that are of most interest to you.  She ‘s also provided a good list of Pros and Cons in her Conclusion section.

Anyway “ a great and epic review “ give it a look HERE when you have some time.
