AppleCare for iPhone 3GS now offered in Canada

This iPhone 3GS is my first carrier smartphone, and I remember asking the Apple Store employee about AppleCare for my new iPhone. He told me that Apple Canada didn’t offer any such service. That was on July 9. I just learned that Apple now offers their extended warranty in Canada for $79 CAD, but I’m wondering if it’s really worth it. I’ve spent the last 10 minutes reading through the “AppleCare for 3GS” thread on EIC and it doesn’t seem like the coverage is all that impressive — especially since it won’t cover what is most likely going to damage your iPhone: drops and water damage.

Oh well, I still have a year from the original phone purchase date to make the decision.

Those were my thoughts when I bought my 3g a year ago. All the problems that I had with the phone were in the first couple of months, so I was glad I saved myself the $100. If it covered drops and cracked screens, I probably would've bought it, but without that, it's a bit "too much for too little".
