App Store Expense Monitor

Do you know how much you ‘ve spent on App Store iPhone apps in the last year and a bit?  I know I didn ‘t ever track that closely.  If you do want to know what you ‘ve spent so far, and continue to track things going forward, there is a desktop app that does just that for you.

It ‘s called App Store Expense Monitor, from Wetfish Software, and it ‘s Mac only for now. The app is very basic “ it just sits in your menu bar (if you let it run continuously, which I prefer not to do) and shows you your total App Store expenditure.

You can also click on its menu bar icon to see the detailed view shown in the screencap above, showing all the apps you ‘e purchased, their cost, and your crazy addiction with Twitter apps “ or that may be just me. :)

You can download App Store Expense Monitor HERE.

I discovered this via a post over at Macgasm.

Wow… they add up! I've spent $246.08. Cool app, thanks for sharing.

Come to think of it…. how does this app work? I didn't have to put any info in it (logins, etc.) I just launched the app and it calculated the amount.

I imagine it just looks at a standard directory location to find names for all downloaded apps, then cross references those with a DB that holds pricing info for apps, and does some adding up. That's just my rough guess.

  4. You guys can all blame it the panic attack on me. :)

Yikes. I didn't realize I had spent $273. .99 and 4.99 and 9.99 add up fast over a year. Pretty interesting.
