Want Some ‘Insanely Advanced’ High-Tech Ringtones for the iPhone?

iRingPro Tek Ringtones for iPhone

The Tek collection bridges the gap between the incredible devices imagined in movies, and the devices we own.  Tek ringers sound insanely advanced, even as they maintain iRingPro ‘s commitment to subtlety and sophistication.

I ‘m not generally one for spending any great amounts of time messing with ringtones.  I typically just use a slice of a song I like, and swap it over to a new song every few weeks (or months or whenever I ‘m sick of it, or those around me are).  Yesterday I discovered some ringtones that struck me as different and cool enough to want to give them a try, and even to be willing to spend some money on them.

In what might be considered a bit of a Friday impulse type purchase, I grabbed up the Tek ringtone pack from iRingPro.  It cost me $9.95 “ which is admittedly a lot for ringtones, but I figure I ‘m well under quota for daft, impulse purchases so far this month, and I was in a big-time Friday mood all day, so what the heck.

And again, these seem far from run of the mill ringtones.  The iRingPro website even features a quote from a Pixar exec that offers high praise for them:

At PIXAR I’m surrounded by the merging of art and technology; we often say, ‘Art challenges technology and technology inspires art’. I can honestly say – this is the first time a phone’s ring has entered that territory. iRingPro is functional art for your phone.

And, I ‘m glad to say “ no regrets on the purchase.  I like these ringtones a lot, and do find them very distinctive.

For your $9.95 you get 31 original ringtones with conventional silent pauses (whatever those are when they ‘re at home) and 31 duplicate ringtones with extended silent pauses.

Then ringtones are easy to install and use.  You just download a .zip file once you ‘ve purchased them, then simply drag the tones folder icon onto your iTunes icon in the Dock “ if you ‘re on a Mac.  The ringtones then go straight into iTunes for you, and can be added to the iPhone next time you sync.  There are Windows versions of the pack “ and an MP3 version “ available as well.

Enough of my rambling though “ you can go HERE to listen to a few previews of the ringtones in the Tek pack.

I've been using their tones since the first "zen" pack … and I have also downloaded the Tek … cool stuff. Now if only the iPhone would allow you to customize the notification tone for other things like calendar, SMS, etc.
