Duke Nukem 3D for iPhone

Another classic game hits the iPhone App Store.  Duke Nukem 3D is now in the store, and at least for today is in some sort of ‘launch sale ‘ mode.

I ‘ve played versions of Duke Nukem back in the dim and distant past, but I ‘m far from knowledgeable about them “ so here ‘s a slice of what IGN had to say about Duke Nukem 3D for iPhone about a month ago when they ‘d had a look at a pre-release version:

The developer has ported over the entire 1996 PC game to the iPhone, so if you have fond memories of ventilating pig-cops and saving strippers, all of this will be both welcome and familiar. It had been a long time since I last stepped out with the Duke, but settled right back into our old two-step after just a few minutes with an earlier build of the game. While MachineWorks has not monkeyed with the gameplay at all, it has subtly upgraded the visuals.

Sounds good, particularly if you ‘re Duke Nukem veteran.  It ‘s in the App Store HERE “ and currently priced at $2.99 (though that price may not last long).

Sorry to say, after buying this game and just trying it for a couple of minutes, this game needs several improvements before being somewhat playable.

    - Frames Per Second needs improvements, at least on 3G.
    - Controlls are very hard to use and the developers should look at Minigore for some love.
    - There is no music ingame besides from in the menus.

But hey, it cool to be the Duke again :)
