NME

As reported over at Macworld, NME Radio has just succeeded in becoming the most downloaded UK radio app, securing number 2 place in the overall music category. This is no easy feat, given the quality of music apps around, such as Pandora, Last.fm, and hopefully soon, Spotify (provided Apple doesn’t flex its rejection muscle on its inclusion in the App Store). And what makes this achievement even more promising is that the app was only released earlier this month!

The App advertises itself as the no 1 source of Indie/Alternate music, allowing users not only to listen to the songs but it provides an easy way to purchase them as well. One of its strong points, according to the developers, is its cutting edge audio compression technology, allowing more reliable connectivity as well as improved audio quality.

The app is currently going for 59p.
