mQuickDo Icon Problem & a Quick, Easy Fix

mQuickDo

Here ‘s a quick “ and quite obvious – tip for use with my current favorite jailbreak app, mQuickDo.  I use “ and love “ mQuickDo for its slick app switching capabilities.  As you can see in the screencap above, this lets me very rapidly switch to any of my 5 most used apps from almost anywhere on the iPhone.

Those 5 most used are, as you can see, Mail, Safari, Things, Twitterriic, and a large question mark. Oops, that large question mark is meant to be Evernote.

I got this rather dopey looking question mark shortly after applying the latest update for Evernote last night.  I ‘m glad I remembered I ‘d done that, as sometimes I do updates almost in my sleep it seems, and can barely remember I ‘ve done them a few minutes later “ especially if I applied quite a few at once.

Anyway, this time I did remember, and that led me to a quick fix.  I figured that perhaps mQucikDo was seeing the new version of Evernote as a whole new application.  So I removed it from the quick apps bar “ by simply replacing it with another app.

Then I immediately swapped it back in.  And voila, mQuickDo showed me my friendly elephant icon for Evernote again.

Iconback

I know this would probably be an obvious fix for a lot of you, but thought I ‘d share just in case.

  1. Thanks for sharing. Hey, sometimes the simpler problems turn into the most time consuming to solve. usually because we sometimes look a little to deep, when the solution is right in our face. Remember when I was having that issue trying to figure out why some contact photos showed small and some large? I was trying every solution I could think of(including restores and countless syncs). But you know what the problem turned out to be? I sync my contacts through gmail through the Outlook setup in mail. Well what I didn't know was that the sync was so sophisticated that it actually automatically applied photos that I assigned to contacts in my iphone to the contacts listed in my actual gmail account. So the photos were automaticaly being synced as well. But when I manually assigned them through the phone, it made them fullscreen. Very similar to the email you sent me about what your friend had discovered. So I went into my gmail and just assigned all my pics to their appropriate contacts on the computer and voila, it synced over the air with pics and all, and now they all appear in the smaller style!! It was an ongoing problem that had been bugging me for months. i just wanted some uniformity to what was going on.
    Very easy fix, easy overlooked.
So to make a long story short(NOT, lol), keep giving us those little tidbit tips. It helps me to slow down and take a step back, which we all need to do sometimes!

Always my pleasure on sharing. And I agree – it's easy sometimes to over-complicate things and overlook an easy solution. I've done it many times in my 'day jobs'.
