Skype 1.2.1 update

Holy mother of Bob, that took a while, but Canadian iPhone users can now use that crazy VoIP service that everybody has been talking about. That’s a relief, because a friend of mine had to make a US iTunes account for the sole purpose of getting some VoIP action, and it sure is a pain logging in and out of different accounts just to update Skype.

The update isn’t much more than a bug fix, but it’s interesting to see it out so soon after version 1.2′s release a few days ago. It doesn’t really seem to address the problems that Patrick and I experienced in our brief testing, though.

  1. I cannot believe that Skype hasn't yet implemented push notifications for calls and especially for Skype chat notifications. How IM+ and BeeJive were able to add it, seemingly immediately without any major problems, but Skype hasn't found the ability or desire to do it is a mystery to me. C'mon Skype – give us notifications. It would make your app SO much more useful and relevant!
