I always check out the interesting sets of statistics provided by Pinch Media in their weekly newsletter.  Today the one stat that jumped out at me is that the percentage of jailbroken users rose and hit 9% for the first time that I can recall.

Wonder how much of the recent increase is driven by fears that once you go to OS 3.1 you won ‘t be able to jailbreak.  Personally I still do not feel worried at all about that.  I restored and updated to OS 3.1 yesterday, but I feel comfortable that a method will come along soon to make use of the saved iBEC and iBSS files to jailbreak again, as well as probably just a fresh jailbreak (via a new route) from the Dev Team.

Very interesting. I wonder how accurate those numbers are since PrivaCy was implemented.

  2. I have been one of those people on the fence of jailbreaking my iPhone….. I have just been worried I would screw it up somehow. The jailbroken apps just make more sense. The article written earlier showed an app for pop-up SMS notifications. I just like all the customization as well. That is one thing me & Apple definitely don't see eye to eye on…. If I bought my iPhone I should be able to do whatever I want with it. Well I am sure I will think about jailbreaking again once they figure out 3. but I am sure I will chicken out again……
