Genius App Recommendations Showing Up in Emails Now Too

This is kind of cool to see.  I did a little purchasing of some new music in iTunes over the weekend “ so I got a receipt email today, and it includes some app recommendations in amongst the suggested songs and albums.

I ‘m sure I won ‘t remember to check recommendations in the App Store as often as I ‘d like, so I ‘m glad to see this included in receipt emails as well “ you can never have too many ways to find good apps in my book.

How are you all finding the Genius recommendations for app so far?

Haven't really been using it. I find my apps via twitter, eic, here, etc. I don't hunt that often…

I don't even see any app genius?! How do I access it?

  3. I like it so far… Genius has actually been pretty accurate recommending me apps based on what I have purchased already. Like you said, you can never have enough ways to reccomend apps. Plus I also use Bargain Bin which is great.

But recommendations have always been a part of the iTunes invoice emails. This isn't anything new unless they've just improved the algorithm and renamed it Genius.

  5. Patrick, iTunes invoices have always shown recommendations for other apps, They have just repackaged it a little. I am not sure how relevant is the context for discovering apps. Would be curious to know their conversion rate, knowing that the very large part of mobile apps are downloaded from the iPhone and not from the computer

I'm getting it now – thanks to several of you who have pointed this out. I guess I was assuming too much – assuming it was already making use of the newly turned on Genius for App Store features of 3.1 within these email recommendations.

Wouldn't know. Happily jailbroken and waiting on the dev team. The new things included in 3.1 aren't as good as the programs I'd be giving up if I upgraded.

  7. This feature was there since day 1…
