Convertbot for iPhone updated to 1.4: adds calculator, copy and paste

Convertbot 1.4

Aaaargh! Why did they have to update an already amazing app?

I had already made my decision to choose taptaptap’s Convert over Tapbots’ Convertbot, but now I have to reconsider my decision. Converbot was recently updated and they added a really easy-to-use calculator function. All it takes is one tap to access it at any time, and you can easily copy numbers from the app or paste them into it by tapping and holding on the number display. They also added the ability to turn off the currency auto-updates (good for folks watching their data) and an option to limit the decimal places in conversions (that never bugged me much).

It’ a very cool update that adds a fair amount of usability, and it’s definitely brought Converbot back to my iPhone. Now to choose which one will stay! Convert has good-looking and simple appeal, but Convertbot is like the Robocop of conversion apps — complete with automated machine sound effects. Decisions, decisions…

This app is cool. I like that you can convert like 5 feet + 9 inches to centimetres directly, without first converting feet to inches or the other way around.
