Onion Microfiche Reader iPhone app

If you count The Onion as one of your top sources of news (and laughter), then today is a happy day.  The day the Onion Microfiche Headline Reader app hit the iPhone App Store.

I ‘ve only had the app for a short while, but it has already provided me with headlines I just couldn ‘t find in any other news app “ like the one above.

Here ‘s the beginning of this new app ‘s App Store description:

You are clearly a busy person, otherwise you wouldn ‘t have such an important phone.  How is a person like you supposed to take the time to take in the important news of yesterday that will give you a competitive edge in the marketplace.

The Onion has the solution.

And of course the app delivers in The Onion ‘s own inimitable style.  You get ‘hard to find ‘ headlines, backed up by no stories at all.  That ‘s right “ the app just gives you a stream of satirical headlines, with no articles attached to any of them.

It ‘s clear that the app is using some state-of-the-art tech in order to serve up its news

When you find a headline you feel like sharing or saving, you can mark it as a favorite, or share it via Twitter or Facebook.  Oh, and the app also offers easy access to audio and video content from The Onion “ like this heartwarming video on real, professional football players visiting the Detroit Lions

You can find the Onion Microfiche Headline Reader in the App Store now, priced at $0.99.

The Onion's latest spoof: charging people for only headlines. Hilarious.
