Meet the Otterbox Commuter and Commuter TL, the smexiest Otterbox cases yet

Otterbox Commuter

This series of cases is actually just called the Commuter, but there’s a slight difference between the Commuter and the Commuter TL (what does that stand for anyway?). Both Commuter sets feature a silicone skin with a hard plastic shell wrapped around it, and each comes with a “self-adhering screen cover” which sounds a heckuva lot like a screen protector :P

Aside from the colours, though, the differences between the two Commuter sets are subtle. The TL features more straight lines and and a textured silicone grip along the side, whereas the Commuter looks just a little more solid with the extra hard plastic wrapped around it.

Overall, it’s an interesting design change. The Commuter still looks like a pretty rugged case, but it’s certainly a curvier design than I’ve seen in past Otterbox products. I like! You can pick the Commuter up from Otterbox.com right now for $35 , but we’ll have to wait a bit for the $30 Commuter TL in colour to come out.

Scary! Stop following me! I was looking at that yesterday after someone tweeted about it. Then I looked at the Defender case, too. But, I kept getting hung up on the fact that I already have the Incase Slider, and do I REALLY need another case?

    Nonetheless, nice write-up…

Oh, and the other main concern I have is the 'Apple logo' being exposed. Would it get damaged, etc, etc…

it is a dust collector…have 2 dogs one of whom sheds a lot…picked up too many of these on the case…also fairly bulky..returned it and bought the Griffin Elan chrome…

  4. FYI – Review units are on their way. I'll have a comparison review of the cases as well as some comparison to the Defender Series once they arrive (which should be soon!)
