The Pocketpack Lightweight – Promising New Case / Wallet Combo for iPhone Coming Soon
I got an email about this upcoming new iPhone case the other day, and thought it looks like another promising iPhone case + cardholder / wallet, similar to the case-mate I.D. that Brandon recently reviewed.
It ‘s called the Lightweight, and it ‘s by a new company (or it ‘s the first I ‘ve heard their name anyway) called Pocketpack “ who have a nice strapline of ‘more utility, less stuff ‘.

Here are some of the main features of the Lightweight case:
- carries currency, stationery or 2-3 cards
- cavity rails prevent cards from sliding out
- white LED flashlight activated by touch sensitive switch
- easy access for battery replacement
- durable polycarbonate iPhone 3G and 3Gs protection
- single piece, snap-on jacket with 1mm sidewalls
- screen protection kit
- access to all ports and controls
- fully dockable without removing case
Once I started taking a look at the company ‘s website and details on the Lightweight case, I noticed they are from here in Austin, and ended up having a quick chat with their founder. So I ‘ll get a chance to see one of the cases up close soon, and we ‘ll also get some to giveaway here on the site.
The Lightweight is expected to be shipping ‘this fall ‘ and will be priced at $34.99.

I really like this one. I have always preferred my wallet over money clips & other devices like this, but I think things are about to change. I like the built in light & the lightweight design. I am definitely going to check this out. They did a great job designing this… Kudos to Pocketpack! Thanks for the review.
This case actually looks of superior build quality to the case mate counterpart that Brandon reviewed. I also definitely am feeling this more than the shiny silver finish that screams "hey look, my credit cards are in here!" I'd definitely love to give one of these a try, and I'm looking forward to your upcoming giveaway! You can count me in already Patrick! Lol! Good preview, and thanks for the heads-up!
I am all over this one. As I mentioned in my comment on the casemate review, it really needs to be able to hold more than one or two cards and it needs to be able to hold folding money.
This one could be a winner. I don't need a flashlight, but there you go.
