Acrobits Softphone Updated With Bluetooth Headset Support
Acrobits Softphone, the excellent iPhone app for wifi voip calling with push notifications that I’ve reviewed in the past (link), was just updated to version 2.5 today.
Among several bug fixes, the big new feature is the support for bluetooth headsets. With version 2.5 of Softphone, you are no longer restricted to using the app with the Apple headphones/mic or holding the phone up to your head. For heavy users of voip apps, this will be a welcome improvement.
Acrobits Softphone 2.5 update is free for current users. For new users, Softphone is available in the iPhone App Store for $6.99 (link), and works with most major voip/SIP service providers, including many office PBX systems.

All of the features of this app worked flawlessly, and I would definitely recommend this app if you have any reason for wanting to record phone conversations. Now, I will preface all of this by saying that if you plan on making and recording a lot of phone calls VOIP services are not free. There are a few that offer limited “free” calling, but very little and usually there is a catch. With that said, if you are aware of the costs of VOIP service, and just want a way to do it directly from your mobile phone, I would definitely recommend Acrobits Softphone!
