Is Call Controller buggy or just too awesome for my iPhone?

call controller

I spent  30 minutes last night  was struggling to tap anything on-screen in an effort to turn safe mode on and properly uninstall Call Controller, but the screen was barely responding.

I’m thinking it was because Call Controller is buggy and doesn’t play nicely with the other apps I have installed, or it’s simply too cool for my iPhone. The app does sound awesome, and it seems to have worked for at least a couple of minutes. CC lets you harness the power of your accelerometer to answer your phone, mute the ringer, and even blot out the sun send calls straight to voicemail (hah, another strikethrough joke..). Unfortunately, after those glorious few minutes of accelerated and ometered play my iPhone just decided to stop responding to any screen taps.

The home and sleep buttons would work, but I couldn’t use any portion of the screen properly. I’m not sure why this happened since the app has little to do with screen taps, but I spent the next half hour struggling to uninstall the thing. I made the whole process much harder on myself because, as I discussed rather dramatically earlier, I hide a lot of the installed apps and launch them through Spotlight or mQuickDo. I hid CC right after I installed it, and I wanted to un-hide it before uninstalling it to make sure it was done properly. This translated to 1000 desperate taps and 10 resets to un-hide and finally uninstall the app and get things back to normal. I might just try Call Controller again in the future, but I’m going to de-activate everything on my iPhone before I do.

Anybody have a good experience with the app? If so, what kind of setup and apps are you running?

  1. i agree. I installed the app several times, with no success of the program working properly for me either. it keep crashing my phone, and i had to remove it via cydia, and other components that cydia dont remove through SSH. I have not reinstalled it due to the bugs that seem to plague the app. Once these issues are addressed, i would love to give this app another go. One thing i think is kick ass about it is that it has a auto text feature. I have not tested that part out, but if it works, it seems sweet. Good luck with the app, and if you figure out how to get it to work with 3.0.1, or 3.1 let me know
