Minor Argh: My App Store isn’t updating properly

Posted on 08 Dec 2009 by Thomas

What the heck is wrong with my App Store lately? For the past six days it’s been telling me to update bloody Rock Band (sorry RB, I don’t mean to take this out on you!) to the latest version when, in fact, I’ve been playing the latest version since the App Store told me about it last week. I’ve updated the game a good three or four times over the Mac and on the iPhone, and it’s proved to be a waste of time and bandwidth. Sometimes the updates will stick and the App Store reports nothing, and then a day later it will notify me of the same Rock Band update. The same thing ha happened with the recent Minigore, JotNot, and other updates.
I’m so used to running excitedly to the App Store when there’s a badge above it, but I’ve now got to steel myself and make treat each launch of the store as a game of Russian Roulette. I’m sure this is just a temporary issue, but I’m surprised it’s hung around for nearly a week. Maybe I should report this to Phil Schiller – that tactic seems to be working pretty well lately.

Glad it isn't only me, I just thought it was my iTunes that had gone all weird, glad to see I'm not alone. I had it with one app a few days ago but that went away after about 4 downloads, but no way am I going to waste another 4 tries on Let's Golf at 84MB a pop. Please fix this Apple !!!

Same thing here as well, I gave up and quit downloading them in the hopes that it will be fixed in a few days.

  7. Bryan says:

Yep. Me too. So glad that you posted this. Thought it was a jailbreak related problem (aarg – hate to restore). Glad I’m not alone.

  8. James says:

Same problem. Eliminate Pro 1.1 took many, many tries to stick and iRoach took patience as well.
