Trivial Pursuit iPhone app

The Trivial Pursuit app for iPhone has had a recent update, to Version 1.1.19.

The big new feature “ and the only addition mentioned on its App Store page “ is the availability of new question packs via in-app purchase.  This is quite an attractive add-on though “ with the ability to add new question sets at a very reasonable cost.

The new question packs available are:

  • Encyclopedia Pack
  • General Knowledge Pack
  • Movies Pack
  • Sports Pack
  • TV Pack

SportsPack

Each of them costs $0.99.

I grabbed the Sports Pack last night “ as that ‘s my favorite category and the one where I ‘d most like a new challenge.

I reviewed the Trivial Pursuit app back in June “ and like the app very much.  If you ‘re after more details on the app, you can check out that review at:

This latest update should already be showing for you if you already own the app “ if you don ‘t have it yet, it is available in the App Store now for $4.99.

I recently purchased four iPod Touch 3G devices for myself, my wife, and two granddaughters, and registered all four under my name. Whenever any of us purchases an App via the iPod, the other three are able to download the same App without having to buy it again. However, my wife has purchased the TV PACK via the "in-app" function, and if I attempt to do the same thing, the application wants me to purchase it again, instead of informing me that I have already purchased it and would I like to download it again. Has anyone come across this issue?

I haven't – but I have a feeling that in-app purchases do not have the same sharing rules applied to them as full applications. Seems like that may be the rub here.
