Free Stanza iPhone app updated: new icon and library interface

Posted on 18 Dec 2009 by Thomas

Some of my favourite iPhone apps feature tabbed interfaces (Tweetie 2, 2Do), and the latest Stanza update seems to have caught onto that trend. This fantastic and free e-book reader still looks and feels the same while inside a book, but its library framework has received a great overhaul.
Instead of seeing all of the various Stanza section (books, bookstores, and settings) in one scrollable list, that content is now spread out across a series of four tabs. There’s even a video introduction to the app now, (though it’s a lot to stream, considering it’s six minutes long).
Long video aside – this is a great new look for the app, and I like how much more open and accessible it all feels. Browsing for more books, especially, is now much easier to do than before. Overall, the app interface feels much more uniform, and the new icon of two intertwined books is an interesting twist. As I said before: I’m really enjoying all of the great app updates this December!
