My 6 Year Old is an iPhone Jailbreaker
I ‘ve made my living as an IT consultant and network tech for the last 15 years, so I love the fact that my daughter seems to have a real knack for a lot of ‘techie ‘ subjects, whether it ‘s grasping just about everything after being shown just once on her netbook, or her huge affinity for the iPhone and iPhone apps.
She is only 6 years old (actually 6.5 “ I should not forget the important half) “ and she is a big iPhone user, first level iPhone tech support for her mom, and a keen observer of all the odd things I get up to on my iPhone. She has asked for her phone to be jailbroken like mine for some time now.
Today, as I want to write a how-to post on the blackra1n jailbreak anyway, was a perfect day to comply with her request. So she is now jailbroken, knows how blackra1n works, and knows how to use Cydia. She also wanted PogoPlank and wallpapers right away. She is busy fine-tuning her categories in PogoPlank while I write this “ and that ‘s her shiny new jailbroken home screen in the screencap above.
Ha “ love my little ‘techie ‘ offspring. 
My 1½ yearold knows how to unlock the screen on my iPhone. My 3 yearold knows how to unlock the screen and search for games :p
LOL – that's great stuff – they'll be coding games for it in no time
Why does a 6 year old need a cellphone?
It's not a cellphone. It's a mobile computer. She inherited my V1 iPhone with phone service turned off when I got the 3GS.
Ah makes sense. I can barely afford my iPhone contract myself, wondered how a 6 yr old could get VFM from it. Makes sense to recycle the hardware
Yup – and it will likely soon die off and be replaced with a Touch. I really believe she gets huge value from the iPhone OS. And she's very, very fond of it.
My daughter is 10 years old and got her 3G a year ago. She is busy downloading clips from Youtube with Safaridownloader. Her iPhone is (of course) jailbroken too.
Very cool. I think the iPhone is a superb educational tool, as well as a great entertainment device of course.
She has also like 150 games on it

im 14 and jailbreak my friends ipod touches and iphones for them. i make about £5 each (voluntary contribution)
