ProSwitcher Updated – Adds Badges to Cards

ProSwitcher iPhone jailbreak app

ProSwitcher “ the excellent jailbreak iPhone app for app switching using Palm Pre style ‘card ‘ sliding of apps “ has just got an update.  The new version number is 0.7.5, reflecting its still beta status.

The one notable change in the latest version is the addition of badges to app cards.  So, for instance, if your Mail app is running in the background (as it will by default) and you receive new mail, when you fire up ProSwitcher you ‘ll see the number of new emails at the top right of the app ‘s card.  You can see this shown in the screenshot above.

ProSwitcher is the best app-switching app I ‘ve seen yet on the iPhone, and this new feature is a nice addition to it.  For more on how ProSwitcher works and how slick I think it is, see my earlier post about it at:

Pretty neat how your themes close button and badges carry over to ProSwitcher. At a quick glance I couldn't figure out why your close button looked funky, then I noticed the badge and saw it matched your dock.

This update basically rules out Multifl0w, unless I am missing something, I don't see why anyone would want to buy it.

  4. they need to add some sort of “favorites” card from which you could launch apps.

This is the sort of application that I would love Apple to release for it's iPhone users. I'm not the jailbraking type; so I'll wait…

Oh yes – I'd also love to see Apple allow this type of app – don't care if they release one themselves, for my money jailbreak devs have more than proven they are capable of stretching the boundaries of what the iPhone can do.
