Apple Moving Toward Total Support of OpenGL 3.0

Hardmac is reporting that Apple has built all but one of of the 23 extensions needed to make OpenGL 3.0 work on Mac OS X 10.6. These 22 extension have are now in place in the latest build of the forth coming 10.6.3 update.

The current release of Mac OS X 10.6 (10.6.2) only supports 15 of the 23 extensions needed for OpenGL 3.0 to function. OpenGL would work on all current Macs, it’s just that the software isn’t there to back it up. Needless to say, OpenGl 3.0 would greatly improve graphics in games and other software that would support it.
