Logic Pro and MainStage Updates Are 64-bit

logic-studio.jpgApple has updated two applications from their Logic Studio suite of software to be 64-bit compatible. The two applications are Logic Pro 9.1 and ManStage 2.1. Let me take you through these updates.

First up is Logic Pro 9.1 the key app from suite. This update gives Logic Pro support for a 64-bit native mode, compatibility with 64-bit Audio Unit plug-ins, and support for file names over 32 characters long (apparently someone is long-winded). There are other fixes of course, and you can read the official Apple release notes here.

Next up is MainStage 2.1 it too now has a 64-bit native mode and compatibility with 64-bit Audio Unit plug-ins. As with Logic Pro, there are a slew of minor bug fixes, and you can read them here.

Undoubtedly Apple is working on migrating their Final Cut Studio products to 64-bit, it’s a matter of when we’ll see it.
