Lovely iPhone Rumor of the Day: OS 4.0 Release ‘Imminent’ [iPhone rumors]
Evidence continues to suggest Apple could soon introduce a new version of the iPhone operating system, this time with an alleged high-profile developer claiming their software was just updated for iPhone OS 4.0.
Apple Insider has a report up today covering the increasing rumors that iPhone OS 4.0 will be released soon. The latest fuel to this fire is a report in iPhone Atlas that a ‘prominent ‘ developer emailed them about having submitted an updated app for the new OS version.
There have also been recent rumors that the reason Apple hasn ‘t released an iPhone OS update is that the new version is littered with references to the (alleged) new tablet device “ and suggesting that 4.0 and a new SDK will be announced at the (alleged) Apple event in the last week of January “ where we are expecting a new tablet device to be announced.
One thing ‘s for sure “ if this event on the 27th happens, and we get a tablet announcement and a brand new iPhone OS 4.0 there are going to be an awful lot of happy fanboys and girls.
So I guess it ‘s time to start listing our expectations, demands, and wild visions of what OS 4.0 should be. Please share yours in the comments.

There was an update to this story at iPhone atlas that said the developer contacted them and said the the 4.0 is the version of their software not the OS. I would doubt 4.0 would release with out an ask release. So while apple might announce 4.0 on the 27th I doubt it will come out the same day, probably the sdk will come out and after a few months 4.0 would come out, maybe a new iPhone too
Yup, I saw that too. I think the general consensus still seems to point to an announcement of OS 4.0 and an SDK for it at the supposedly upcoming event later this month.
