Just When We Thought Apple Tablet Hype Couldn’t Get Any Bigger …

We hear from TechCrunch about the feelings of the man himself on the subject:

‘This will be the most important thing I ‘ve ever done ‘ “ Steve Jobs, referring to the soon-to-be-launched Apple Tablet.

And from numerous sources, including Apple Insider, that up to 50 of the tablets have been spotted in a leading analytics firm ‘s data, and tracked back to Apple ‘s Cupertino campus.  Oh and they ‘re said to be running an iPhone-like OS 3.2.

The famous Doonesbury comic strip is apparently devoting a whole week to this:

To clarify: one of the most popular strips in the world is doing an entire week ‘s worth of comic strips about an event in which a rumored (rumored) consumer product might (might) be shown off for the first time.

Finally, Andy Ihnatko has a great suggestion in amidst all the madness:

I think we now need to create a new word for ‘hype ‘ that only refers to the sort of buzz that an Apple product can generate.

I ‘d love to say that now I / we will clam up on this subject and wait to see what we get on Wednesday at Apple ‘s event “ but I very much doubt that ‘s how it ‘s going to be :)

They better pull thru with something amazing!

  2. I’d be very disappointed if the table will be just a bigger ipod touch. I keep hoping for a revolutionary product.

Yup – they sure have set the bar very, very high for themselves. Here's hoping they deliver something truly special.
