I just started using Evernote in school to clip articles that I think are relevant for research. When I copy and paste the text into the body of a new note, all the double “f”‘s are missing! Example: effort becomes “eort”, effective becomes “eective”. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Alan,
going on about a week of this premium service now and still loving it. btw, if you're a fan of Evernote, you might like the podcast a lot. I've listened to them all and found them geekily hilarious.

It has changed the way I use the multitude of computers I use during a normal business day. While Simplenote looks "simple" enough, it does not offer the wealth of features Evernote touts, nor do I have 100% confidence that Simplenote will be around for the long haul. Evernote not only seems to be in the business of getting folks organized, but they look to be setting themselves up for the future.

Good luck if you do jump ship, I'll be curious to hear what you've come up with. For me, I could not imagine flight at this time.

thanks for the feedback on that Thorsten

I've tried the awesome note lite version a few times, but I'm not hooked yet. I know it can do two-way syncs with Evernote, but it's exporting and importing, and not an auto-save feature. I like the idea of not having to remember to save my work.

So now I use Awesome Note on the iPhone, and it syncs to Evernote. And I use the Evernote client on my Mac. It seems to work fine in ghat combination.

The service and apps have come a very long way, though. Everything about the iPhone app is better and more reliable than it was two years ago, and I can count on the app to work when I need it (not so during my university days where notes just loaded when they felt like it).

I also like to try and keep things as simple as possible, and that's actually a big part of why I like Evernote – it combines that small file drop service + note syncing … all over the air. That's one thing iTunes can't do for me yet, and I really don't like how inconsistent iTunes can be in detecting a connected iPhone.

As for Dropbox, I think it's definitely worth a look. It's great even if you just use it on your desktop. Free accounts come with 2GB of space.

Notemaster looks quite powerful – never tried, but I remember seeing it around on the App Store during note app searches. It still looks just a bit too crowded for my tastes, but maybe that's just the screenshots

Features of previous versions are removed (for example the ability to set background color), there is no clear heading where Evernote goes, copy-paste operations result in line feed all around the notes, creating links that use http pointing to another port than 80 doesn't work, etc. On each update, I'm afraid I will loose another working feature. Is it so difficult to have a decent html editor? Even web-based services are to provide one. I really hope they will fix all this in coming updates as I enjoy the way it works and it syncs on all my devices.
