My simple black and white Vaja ivolution GT case (review here) has seen a fair amount of use over the past few months. I tend to switch cases every now and then just to change the appearance and texture of my iPhone, and the Vaja always makes the device feel like an absolutely premium slice of mobile tech.
The leather smell is no longer as pungent, and I like it a lot more now. The leather has held up quite well, although there are marks and indentations along the back, as well as a few scratch marks along the racing stripe. As for the interior: there’s a minor tear along the bottom lining, but this is only evident when the case is empty – otherwise it’s impossible to notice. The case’s fit is still the same as day one, and the plastic latch that holds the flip against the iPhone’s screen still snaps satisfyingly into place. It’s also worth noting that the rows upon rows of embossed Vaja logos still look like they did on day one. I usually find this looka bit tacky, but I rather like it on the Vaja.
All in all, I’d say this Vaja has held up very well, and I now think of this case as my iPhone’s racing stripes tuxedo. I also can’t help but think of Neil Patrick Harris saying “Suit up!” every time I put the thing on.
