Updated today to version 1.0.3, Momento is a very elegant app that combines a private diary or journal with a personal space that records your daily social activity. It collects posts from facebook, twitter, flickr, last.fm to uniquely display your online imprints. Additionally, it lets you attach photos to your private notes and to tag and/or rate them.
I really do like the way this app looks and works. Headings and fonts are just right, the days and posts display is well executed and the provision of a passcode allows it to be used as a real diary app, so I can hide my secrets from a prying universe if I so choose.
I ‘ll confess it ‘s strangely appealing to view all my posts in 1 place. How handy! Or is it?
While testing it these past 2 weeks I kept coming back to the same question. Why would I want to see an old facebook/twitter posting? Is it a link I remember sharing but I don ‘t know exactly when? But currently there ‘s no way to search by keyword. And the app doesn ‘t allow me to tag my postings, even if I had the time to do so. Keyword search would be a great feature addition.
What I ‘d also like to see is a way to email or share partial or whole private notes as well integration with the iPhone ‘s calendar so I can have a complete look at what transpired on a particular day.
However I am content with the app in its current form. It is a journal for the actively social today, combining diary and virtual musings. I like reviewing my day ‘s social activity, wondering what moved me to react to a particular ‘moment ‘. Get it?
