Quick Pastebot Tip: store your iPhone wallpapers in their own folder [iPhone Tips and Tricks]

Pastebot 2010-01-28 12.51.50 PMI’ve been using Pastebot (impressions here) to keep my iPhone wallpapers in cryogenic stasis until they’re needed. The cryo stasis part is probably unnecessary (been playing a lot of Mass Effect 2 lately) since wallpapers don’t age, spoil, or die, but they do normally have to be synced over from iTunes or saved to the Camera Roll from mobile Safari.

In the spirit of wireless simplicity, I’ve started throwing my wallpapers into their own folder within Pastebot. I don’t switch wallpapers all that often, but I do like to have a lot of choice when I get the itch to try something different. I can now easily build my collection by pasting pictures from my Mac to my iPhone, and whenever I want to choose a different wallpaper I just “save image” within Pastebot, head to the camera roll, and apply it. No syncing of iPhoto folders, and no extra mess in my Camera Roll.

You can actually throw multiple pictures into Pastebot and have them show up as one item, but you’ll only see a thumbnail for the first image, so it’s better to just copy and paste wallpapers one by one. That way you can enjoy the kickass thumbnail view that Pastebot provides (shown above).

This was the first thing I used Pastebot for. Very handy and convenience. I even separate my wallpapers into folders (Apple Wallpaper, Abstract, General, Cartoon, etc.).

Just want to say thanks for the tip. Pastebot’s been sitting on my home screen gathering dust as I really couldn’t think of many uses for it.
