I've only had True HDR for a little while, but I've used Photogene for months on end now. I think the results are different enough based on a couple of test pics I've taken on the iPhone 3GS. I doubt it can be as mind-blowingly stunning as Photoshopped HDR, but it's different and easy enough that it's probably worth a shot.

this is actually different than what Photogene does. With Photogene you can only manipulate the levels of one photograph – this app actually takes the highs and lows of two photographs and combines them for a more "true to life" picture, or at least, for a more dramatically lit picture with more visible details.
