Site Stuff: Nice Milestone – 10,000 Comments
Everything is relative, in life and on the web. Some sites probably get 10,000 comments in a week, or maybe in a day when there ‘s a super hot topic for debate. 10,000 comments for this site feels like quite a nice little milestone to me though.
As a blogger, comments and conversation are one of the most rewarding things about doing this. I am so happy that our volume of comments has increased a lot over the last year or so, and that so huge a percentage of the dialog here is constructive and interesting. Thanks to all of you for making that so!
Here ‘s the comment that hit the 10,000 mark for us, on the best way to win back jailbreakers post “ a fitting example and fitting subject I think:
I don’t think I’d ever not jailbreak, just for the fact that it allows me, albeit unnoticed, to protest the ridiculous software restrictions apple has placed over it’s iPhone/Touch/Pad. Even so, the things that would cause me to consider no longer jailbreaking would be: -Multitaking -A SBSettings replacement -Ability to remove (or hide) stock apps [why do I need Stocks app when I don't have any investments?] -Theming [at least give me a customizable background] -A better lockscreen [LockInfo is essential IMO]

Totally wish u were local – trying to set up WinAdmin to my CCTV DVR – Whoa! The best and most intelligent info and review I’ve come across is yours. I just tackled the static IP address problem (I think – my ISP only offers static IP’s to businesses at a large cost monthly) – I have quite a bit of reading to do!
Not sure if you were meaning to comment on this post or a WinAdmin one – but anyway if you need a static IP on a home machine, DynDNS may be your friend:

Whoo hoo, 10,000th post! I’m glad I could contribute to the milestone. This site is the only iPhone site I keep in Google Reader and has not let me down… although I’m skeptical on the iPad dedication. Congrats!
